Dr. Tornberg is a graduate of Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and South Dakota State University. He did his internship at Littleton Large Animal Clinic, Littleton, CO. He was president of the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association in 1996 and was the 1999 SDVMA Veterinarian of the Year. He is a member of American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners and South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association. He established the Dakota Large Animal Clinic in May 1981. Dr. Tornberg presently serves on the SD Reserve Veterinary Medical Officer Corps and on the Board of Directors for Horse Help Providers, Inc.
